Step into one of the darkest chapters in Danish history when Køge was the setting for Denmark's largest witch trial in the years 1612–1615. 16 women were accused of witchcraft – only one survived.

Follow in the footsteps of local Køge woman Anna Bartkær and experience the brutality of the witch hunts through authentic sources and powerful visual recreations.

WOLVES, GOLD AND GODS

Vaults, gold and gods open up the beliefs, rituals and imaginary world of the Viking Age – a universe where much has been lost and where interpretation is inevitable.

In collaboration with Jim Lyngvild, the exhibition explores the Asatru faith in the tension between archaeological finds, professional knowledge and free imagination. Join the archaeologists' workshop and the debate about how we can possibly understand a past that can never be completely pieced together.

THE WOLF'S GRAVE

It looks macabre, as if she is lying there at the bottom of the grave. They have separated the head from the dead body, and it is now standing upright on the neck. They are not going to risk anything. The wolf is dead. Now it is time to give her a proper burial so that she does not return.

Step into the burial chamber at the recreated Trekroner-Grydehøjgrav and experience a unique burial moment, where bodies, animals and objects are tied together to ensure the peace of the living.

SATANIC CULT

It all began in 1973, when several satanic cult sites were discovered on the small island of Anholt. The discoveries quickly spread fear and fascination among the population, and over the next decades the mystery spread like a shadow across the country.
